Electronic Arts has upped their game over the past several years, breaking out of their proverbial professional sports franchise cage and publishing a series of high profile, underrated material that has only served to strengthen their market share. Branching out into "BIG"--their arcade sports titles--and now Black Box (where the skateboard powerhouse Skate franchise is housed), their expansion teams have identified EA as a definitive innovator in the video game medium.

Take their Black Box expansion acquisition of the "Skate" engine and how they combined innovative analog controls with intuitive, realistic skateboarding--something that no other game in history has been able to accomplish before. Read more about Brutal legend below.
Their collaboration with Double Fine (and more importantly the former LucasArts mastermind Tim Schafer), on their second console project, is already gaining momentum as a cross-platform powerhouse. Brutal legend a game you will enjoy.
Fusing heavy metal music (and culture) and the speed of its blazing guitar solos, with hot-rod driving elements, and the fantastical tale of a disenchanted roadie who wakes in a dream world of bones of dust (and metal--heavy metal that is), this fledgling gaming company is changing the way we look at games.
Much could be said about Double Fine's new game--it's a collaboration of insane musical aptitude, the power of a drag-race, and the action of mythological hack'n'slasher.
Brutal Legend opens backstage before a massive live concert, where Eddie Riggs--the greatest roadie in the history of 'Rock' is ready to send his band of misfit emo-rap-metal-bangers onto the stage. He reminisces of a time where the music was better... The late 70's.
When he awakes, he must fight--what appears to be--evil skeleton priests with an axe, as well as his "Axe", Clementine--and her power-chorded fury.
If you are a fan of Double Fine's web content than you will be familiar with the humor scattered throughout this game. Likewise, Tenacious D fanatics will appreciate Jack Black's high-flying personality embodied in the oddly-proportioned character on a mission to save the world by restoring the sanctity of 'Rock'! In the midst of all the humor and action, however, is a sprawling, colorful universe of characters and power chords alike, as well as another classic EA gaming experience.
